A sample course itinerary is available
here.
This was from the March 2007 course at Ardingly and gives a flavour
of what to expect.
Here are some of the things that people said about the last course -
Quotes
Ardingly
Our spring course is held at Ardingly College, Sussex and is based
around pre-track season training. The huge grassed areas at Ardingly
are kind to the athletes legs and specimen 800m and 1500m sessions
are carried out. The traditional 7.00am morning run is a feature of
all our courses and this is more of a wake-up run as opposed to a
dedicated set pace. Gym work is also done in the form of drills and
strength exercises and three different lectures give the athletes and
coaches excellent value-for-money. Evening activities are also
arranged and the attendees have something to do almost every minute
of the day! |

Ogmore
Our autumn course is held at Ogmore-by-Sea, South Wales
and its unique natural training areas are renowned. The infamous
‘Big Dipper’ sand hill at Merthyr Mawr soon finds out who is the
strongest, but all athletes tackle it with vigour. The Sunday session
is held on the flat, hard sand at Southerndown in the picturesque
bay. On all of our courses we choose an athlete of the course, both
male and female and this gives them the opportunity to come to
another course free of charge. This is always a difficult decision
for the coaches and they look not necessarily for the best athlete,
but the one with the best attitude. |

Cliff College
We are always on the look-out for new venues and the criteria we
seek are suitable training areas, good food and accommodation and
facilities that have lecture rooms and a sportshall along with
reasonable accessibility. We held one of our autumn courses in the
Derbyshire Peak District at Cliff College in Calver and this provided
a much different terrain for training. It is an extremely hilly area,
but we also had the luxury of training in the beautiful grounds of
Chatsworth Park and this proved to be very popular with the athletes.
We now have three courses a year, Ardingly in the spring, Ogmore in
the autumn and a new venue for a second autumn course a month
later. |

Irthlingborough
Our latest course was held at The Frontier Centre, Irthlingborough
in Northamptonshire. This was another brand new venue and it proved
to be a perfect setting for training with vast grassed areas that
provided hills, circuits and flat surfaces and along with the
excellent accommodation, lecture rooms and restaurant it was deemed
by athletes and coaches as one of our best locations. It was so good
that we booked the 2007 course whilst still there! The tried and
tested format was used again and over 50 athletes put their names
forward for the next course in the spring at Ardingly College. |
